China Orient Summit Capital and KKR successfully held the 2017 Special Opportunities Investment Strategy Seminar

China Orient Summit Capital (COS Capital) and KKR Investment Group jointly held a special opportunities investment strategy seminar in Shenzhen on March 30, 2017. More than 70 guests from China Orient Asset Management Company (COAMC) and its subsidiaries, China Orient Asset Management (International) Company (COAMI), Sunshine Insurance, KKR, and more than 40 other financial institutions including banks, trusts, asset management companies and real estate firms attended the seminar. 

KKR Investment Group is one of the world’s oldest and leading private equity investment institutions, which has remarkable global influence. Under the strong support of COAMC, COAMI and COS Capital was introduced to this well-known foreign institution and established a strategic relationship with KKR at the end of 2015. The three parties set up a joint venture platform to seek special opportunity investments and launched the Greater China Special Opportunities Fund. This platform will work closely with COAMC on NPL business and take advantage of each party’s specialties, aiming to take advantage of special acquisition opportunities, and to invest in non-performing loans or steeply discounted properties.

The conference was hosted by Mr. Feng Han, Managing Director of COS Capital and head of the Special Opportunities Fund. Mr. Jamie Weinstein, President of KKR’s global special opportunities business, Mr. Wenjun Yang, President of KKR in Greater China, and Mr. Hanxiang Yang, Managing Director of real estate business in Greater China, shared KKR’s investment philosophy, global real estate structure, and investment models and case studies in global credit and special opportunities business. Mr. Tao Wu, President of COS Capital, introduced the venture and expectations for the cooperation between COS Capital and KKR. Mr. Feng Han, further specified the strategy and collaboration plans to the audience. 

During the round table seminar in the afternoon, guests from COAMC discussed how the special opportunities fund platform complements COAMC’s business by integrating resources and achieves a win-win result. The guests showed strong interest in the investment opportunities and expressed hope to establish a long-term relationship in the future.
