Head of Research

  • Job description



    The Head Research, is responsible for the company’s

    research function, forming of “House Views” and the production of research

    materials, with a focus on the Greater China markets.


    The head of research will work closely with the

    transactions and asset management teams to understand the local dynamics of the

    various respective markets.


    The head of research will also work closely with

    the marketing and business development teams to produce materials in Chinese

    and English languages, as required, to promote the firm’s thought leadership with

    investors, the press and trade bodies.

    Key Outcomes / Responsibilities


    Create ‘House Views’ materials with regard to the Greater

    China markets

     In coordination with the needs

         and aspirations of the business;

     Integrated in the wider firm

         standards of design, compliance and marketing campaigns.


    Support existing real estate investment processes and

    support ongoing development and implementation of advances in investment approach

    and process.


    Ensure appropriate inclusion of research and

    strategy views with regard to transaction management, asset management and

    product development.


    Support Business Development client servicing and marketing

    and sales initiatives.


    Responsible for thought leadership and a trusted

    public commentator representing the business.


    Collect ongoing relevant statistical information

    from the financial markets, real estate markets, macro-economic indicators and

    other relevant data; maintain a company database/repository of relevant data.

    Role Specific Skills And Knowledge


    Strong leadership and management skills and an

    ability to lead and influence at the most senior level within and outside the



    Experience working in both international and

    Chinese environments beneficial as well as operating at all levels within the



    Knowledge of Greater China real estate investment

    markets both across geographies, sectors (including residential).


    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    in both English and Chinese.


    Innovative thinking.



    An undergraduate / postgraduate qualification in a

    related discipline (economics, geography, real estate, investment)

    Significant practical experience

    in a real estate environment is a preference
